Question:
***A FOLLOW uP 2 Christians*** read my last post if you can find it?
2007-08-12 02:00:04 UTC
Ok..I realize that I was generalizing all Christians in my last post by saying they were all a certain way. I'm sorry. Although I am an atheist (searching for answers like everyone else) I will admit that some Christians do the best they can, the problem is I can't seem to come across those people, only on the internet. I appreciate you who didn't get mad at my judgmental attitude...and to you who did, thanks for proving me somewhat right. I would really like to get to know some decent, non-judgmental Christians. I'm going through a really hard time in my life and need some encouragement. I used to be a Christian too, but it seemed that whenever I was having my hardest times, that's when they would be the farthest away from me. It seems like non-Christians are more supportive of me. I'm lost in a mental trap of confusion over the whole things, and I don't feel good that I judged everybody so quickly, my apologies. I just don't know what I'm looking for, maybe someone talk to me?help :(

Where you at? Geographically, that is... State and region--no specifics.

I'm in central California. If you're nearby I might be able to help; if not, I might know someone in your area.

I'll check back in about 15 and edit if you've responded.

Bummer... moving out of Modesto in September... but just started working in Livermore.

robingd@yahoo.com Feel free to email, I am/was a Christian since I was a teenager, but like you have found that I was supported by other Christians only when I was acting in a manner that they approved of. If I did something contrary to that, I was threatened with exposure and lied about. I still believe in the teachings of the Christian faith, but have not been in practice for years. I've also found that since I left, I have become immensely more tolerant of others' beliefs and their right to have their own beliefs without feeling the need to shove my nose into their business. I finally realized that everyone has their own beliefs, and it's unlikely that I will change what they are, and is extremely presumptuous to expect them to change their way of thinking just because I say they should. I'd be interested in hearing what caused the split for you.

I see a lot of negativity towards Christians. Thank you for your apology for "generalising". I already see others who replied to this post who generalize saying that Christians are only interested in converting. It's just silly seeing all that.

That being said, I am a Christian, but I struggle in my faith. I can't say that I am a good Christian. I believe and I have faith. But when things get hard, my faith is challenged in a large way. I believe that Christians have no right to judge others. That God is the only one that can judge another. I will not judge you or anything you've done. I have my fair share of things I shouldn't and wished I hadn't done.

I know what you're going through, but in my heart I know and believe in God. I'm just not always on the track I want to be.

If you need to discuss this farther feel free to e-mail me.

question: Imacatholic2, we can possibly not agree on how the worldwide issues gets fastened right now yet the two won't be able to be suited. It form of comes right down to 2 substantial possibilities! The U.N. and all the religious leaders backing it is going to hold peace and secure practices or Jehovah God will! ................ not too particular what's this approximately. there's a conflict and a choose of a non violent determination. looks like pitying the worldwide leaders against God. Peace n secure practices of this worldwide would be clean up by utilising the worldwide: could we are saying the UN+religious leaders below the preparation of God. Is the pope below the gun for commencing up and partaking interior the bringing worldwide order, potential will strengthen him to a extreme profile and different religious leaders are at the back of him and style of did not make the headlines? i understand the pope wrote British top Minister Brown, urging the G8 to not cut back the help to the damaging countries. i wish I have been given the glide of this. edit a million: Wow! Is iamcatholic below scrutiny for being the optimum pointer in this YA. sounds like jealousy/envy. To discredit somebody like this, is offcourse wont fly. guy, do all of us and sundry could paintings to earn that.

Apologies accepted. I know how it is when Christians don't act they way they should. I am a Christian myself and I'm often disappointed by some people who aren't good examples of Christianity. I hope you find people in your life who will help you through your difficult times. It doesn't matter to me if they are Christian or not, because anyone who helps you in any way is sent by God to do so. He will use whom He chooses. I will be praying for you that God will help you clear up all the confusion and bring peace to your soul. God Bless.

Hi boxer. I'm a Christian who has done my own fair share of mistakenly generalizing others. I think everyone has done that. Don't beat yourself up over it. I think I'm decent and non-judgemental, if you want to talk. I may not have the answers you're looking for, but I have a good listening ear. :)

sorry, lost all interest in Christianity, they only care about converting, rather than helping the poor. Christians can easily put the homeless off the streets, the only problem is that they want you to believe in Jesus to do so. In order to be christian, you have to have $$. I also think that facts don't matter anymore. Forget that Ted Haggard paid for gay sex, forget that it took 40+ years to write about Jesus, FORGET that Jesus's Resurection was added later in the Bible and proven false. FORGET that Galileo proved the Bible wrong, by discovering that the Earth was NOT the center of the universe.

Find a good church. You have to shop around like 4 everything else.

There is no such thing as a perfect church. If you ever find one, then don't join it. Know why? Cuz then it wouldnt be perfect anymore!

Seriously, you sound like a nice guy. I will pray for you. The atheists just want to drag as many down with them as they can. Stay away from them.
