Is it possible to live in peace with Islam?

Excerpts from today's news, Sept. 18th:

"The Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization that includes al-Qaida in Iraq, vowed to continue its JIHAD AGAINST THE WEST. The group said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as 'the worshipper of the cross,' saying, 'YOU AND THE WEST ARE DOOMED... WE WILL BREAK UP THE CROSS, SPILL THE LIQUOR AND IMPOSE HEAD TAX, THEN THE ONLY THING ACCEPTABLE IS A CONVERSION (to Islam) OR (that you be killed by) THE SWORD.'

"Islam forbids drinking alcohol and REQUIRES NON-MUSLIMS TO PAY A HEAD TAX TO SAFEGUARD THEIR LIVES IF CONQUERED BY MUSLIMS. THEY ARE EXEMPT IF THEY CONVERT TO ISLAM.

"Al-Qaida in Iraq warned that its WAR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY AND THE WEST WILL GO ON UNTIL ISLAM TAKES OVER THE WORLD, and threatened, 'YOU INFIDELS AND DESPOTS, WE WILL CONTINUE OUR JIHAD AND NEVER STOP UNTIL GOD AVAILS US TO CHOP YOUR NECKS...'"

What do you think? Will your children or grandchildren be forced to renounce Christ OR DIE?

There are two questions here. The first is can we in the west live at peace with islam. My answer is I don't think so.

Part of the muslims threats are empty rhetoric. But I think there probably are elements that want war with us. I think the example of Israel is a good one. Militarily, Israel can destroy any of the regular armies of the surrounding arab countries. But that isn't what happens. There isn't all out war against Israel - just a low grade continuous, terrorist campaign. Israel has few options. The only way to completely stop the terrorists is to kill every last one of them. Now the terrorists will never defeat Israel this way, but Israel can't get rid of the terrrorists either. I believe we may end up drawn into the same kind of crap.

The second question is will we be forced (by the muslims) to renounce Christ or die. I really answered this question already. No we won't. The muslims will wage a terrorist war against us. While deadly in small doses, it won't ever defeat us. But we won't be able to completely eliminate them either.

Low grade conflict as far as the eye can see.

No, absolutely not.

Simply because peace is a need, a fundamental human need. We can't live without it. Look at what is done for it .

Religion will pass but the desire within will always be there as long as there is human living on earth. Peace is not only the absence of war peace is a lot more than that. Peace is a crucial requirement to exist. There is no way humans will sacrifice it no matter the greatness of the ideology , it is too important in our daily lives to be able to live in peace for EVERYONE. It doesn't matter who you are , as long as you are human you have that need within you and somehow that will have the last word. some may now be attracted and even fascinated by war but it is just that, a passing attraction for some adrenaline junkies but it is not a reel need. war never was made for humans. we are not made for that. we as humans have a lot more affinities with joy and peace in our lives. the problem is that people have placed ideas above human life. But I am convince that they will become more pragmatics in time because war and violence, it may seem fun from up far watched on TV or in a game but you wouldn't have it in your back yard for you or your loved ones to endure. You would be reel tired of it reel fast.

once I worked overseas some years in the past i replaced into based miles into the wilderness residing and working and socialising with a mixed bag of religions, specifically Moslems from Pakistan, Egypt and Sudan and multiple N. African international locations besides as Roman Catholics from far east, a Scottish Presbyterian and a C of E from S.W. England. all people time-honored all people else's religious ideals and there replaced into even advantageous communicate between different communities yet in no way any tries to transform one from the different. there replaced into in no way any animosity different than on one social gathering and that replaced into between a Pakistani Moslem and an Indian Moslem. It had no longer something to do with race or faith, purely a conflict of personalities. So theoretically you're impressive. human beings of diverse religions could desire to be waiting to stay with one yet another if we could desire to all purely settle for that diverse human beings have diverse ideals and opt to precise them in yet differently even though it extremely is a pity some human beings can not respond to what's in all probability an extremely apt question without giving stupid solutions yet then simply by fact of this there is and in all probability continuously be some kind of conflict interior the international despite if linked with faith or no longer. it extremely is all all the way down to the small mindedness of "what I say and what i believe is sturdy and don't dare contradict me in any different case" which in many situations manifests itself between opposing soccer followers. And for AC7's earnings, possibly it would be observed that there have been many wars between so called Christians and Christians over the centuries and all factors shouting "God is on our part."

I'm afraid there will be no peace. It is like unringing a bell, it cannot be done. We are at war and it is by their choosing. They will kill is if we give them a chance - and our only chance are strong leaders that will kick some a**. Not many of those around as it is an unpopular and un-PC stance to take.

I think it will come to a point we'll have no choice but to nuke almost the entire mid-east. It's a horrible thought, but if it comes down to us or them, we're not gonna sit and take it. There are limits to all things, I think they'll keep pushing and we'll run out of patience.

As long as Muslims are following the example of their prophet then the answer to your question is "no".

we muslims accept the war in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Chechenya against israel, US, allied forces, and russia... because those wars are for defending our lands... we don't accept killing of civilians and the way osama bin laden is going through.

all the wars taking place, is to force you out, and i tell you, this is not our power, our power is much greater... there are people who are blocked in their countries (because of bad governemnets), those are our lands and we will fight for them untill you are out... i think this point is clear, and even osama bin laden said it, so you are the ones getting involved with your choice.

then, we don't force people to be muslims, they have the choice... we don't say "be muslims or else you will die", islam gives you the freedom of choice.

The Jews have survived Christianity -- you too will survive Islam.
