Christians! If morality comes from God, how do you explain the following fact?

The societies on the planet that are the most atheistic have the lowest murder rates.

Source: http://www.nairaland.com/121066/predominantly-atheist-countries-lowest-crime

Please don't drag Stalin or Mao into this. It's not atheism that turned them into ruthless genocidal dictators. It's narcissistic egoism and self-praise. They DID believe in God and that God was themselves. They saw other humans as disposable and insignificant and they thought themselves to be gods worthy of worship. They were delusional psychopaths who just happened to be atheist. Associating them with atheism is intellectually dishonest. What if a serial killer denies the existence of Zeus? Would you then claim that the denial of Zeus is a morally bankrupt belief system that turns people into serial killers? Of course not, because that's just guilt by association and no decent debate moderator would permit it.

Christians always try to lie about other world leaders being atheist when they were all but one definitely religious and there has never been a war or slaughter in the name of atheism!

Stalin was raised a Catholic and completely controlled the Russian Orthodox Church!

Fidel Castro was at the worst agnostic and actually protected religions!

Kim Jong-Il is a god head for his own religion and is very pro religion and encouraged the building of Russian orthodox churches in North Korea!

Napoleon Bonaparte had a strong belief in God, but he voiced many criticisms of organized religion!

Ho Chi Minh was a Mahayana Buddhist!

Che Guevara was raised a Catholic and although he left the catholic church he remained a Christian!

Benito Mussolini Converted to Roman Catholicism in 1927 and encouraged the building of Catholic churches!

Mao Zedong was a Buddhist!

Pol Pot is the only one who might have been an atheist but all the historians will say is that he saw the dreadful things done to his people in the name of religion and that is why he banned it!

But there have been many wars in the name of the Christian god alone!

George W Bush started FIVE wars in less than eight years stating each time that it was his "God Given Duty” and on September 16th 2001 even called it a Crusade!

Not his duty to the electors!

Not his duty to America!

Just his duty to keep slaughtering heathens for his god!

Do you could have the scripture verses to show these statements? The truth that in the Gospel, one among Jesus' miracles used to be turning a pair fish into many fish to feed a crowd has me to believe that either A) you are misinterpreting passages, or B) you simply bought this off of a website and are believing it to be genuine without actually studying the Bible itself. Now regarding different problems, there are many Christians who're hostile to the brand new cultural recommendations. Nevertheless, these opinions should not adequate to vary what Congress as well because the White house does. As the tradition continues to alter, these ideas may be adopted; nevertheless, it'll take an awfully very long time to alter them. An illustration of this is sacrifices. Within the ancient testament, sacrifices were long-established. Nonetheless, in the New testomony, and as tradition modified, sacrifices were not executed and as an alternative were looked down upon in some cultures. You don't see Christians in the USA making sacrifices to God. That simply does not occur anymore because of the tradition. This change took 1000s of years to be in viewpoint.

I find it interesting that you cite a Nigerian Forum as your Source. In my country, the younger generations tend to be ignorant of anything not taught in their classrooms, which are incredibly dumbed-down.

.

.

The average undergraduate in Nigeria has no idea who Adolf Hitler was, nor why there is a new state of Israel. Science students know nothing about Nikola Tesla nor Henry Ford.

.

.

Along comes an idiot like you, who says:

.

.

"Don't bring Mao nor Stalin into this."

.

.

Communism was created by Roman Catholic Jesuits for the purpose of destroying the Russian Monarchy, the Russian Orthodox Church, and Protestantism in general.

.

.

The Russian Patriarch capitulated, and handed the vast wealth of his church over to the Communists come to kill their leading clergy, who saw no reason to massacre them, and broke their ties with the roman Catholic Church.

.

.

This meant that no Christian Religious person could be trusted, so that every form of Christianity had to be effectively stamped out.

.

.

Other forms of Communism followed suit, including that of China, where 60 million were liquidated in post-Revolutionary purges.

Multi-millions so met their end in other Communist Atheist countries.

.

.

Communism was always planned to be militant Atheism, as was outlined in a famous letter purported to be by Giuseppe Mazzini to Albert Pike, outlining a plan by the Illuminati, which was running Freemasonry, to take over the World through three World Wars.

.

.

It was displayed in the British Museum until 1972.

.

.

Communists are among my least favorite people, ever, but I resent the attempts to dismiss their leaders as being mentally aberrated. Their actions were completely logical, and consistent with a belief in their complete unaccountability, justifying their means by their ends.

.

.

China and Russia were very large countries, not to mention the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.

Anything less than an irion fist in an iron glove would not have worked for them. Nor should they have tried any other.

Morality doesn't come from God. From an evolutionary standpoint, it comes from the fact that humans are social creatures, and getting along with each other is beneficial for their own survival.

Instead of lumping this into terms of society, why don't you look at it from an individual perspective? God created all of us with a conscience. Those who study the Bible and apply it's teachings, do not commit heinous crimes. Granted, due to the sin of Adam and Eve, we are all born into sin. We make mistakes, we fall short of the glory of God. But aside from the occasional misgivings, TRUE Christians, those who actually walk with God (not just those who claim to) are quite peaceful. There are Atheists in every country. There are Christians in every country. There are Buddhists in every country. There are Hindus in every country. There are Muslims in every country. But in God's eyes, the planet is not divided up with borders and political lines. In God's eyes we are all people. Each individual must make a decision to either walk with God, or with Satan. There is no middle ground. The reason why there is so much wickedness is not God's fault, but Satan the Devil's. Revelation 12:7-12 speaks of war in heaven, between Jesus and Satan. Of course Satan lost and he and the angels that sided with him were thrown out of heaven down to the vicinity of the earth. Since that time, wickedness has increased. The influence of Satan on this planet is very discernible. War, crime, food shortages, natural disasters, injustice, corruption and greed abound. Millions die each year from these things. But 1 John 5:19 says that the "whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3 show clear signs that we are living in the last days. But soon God will put an end to this. Revelation 21: 4 says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

It's only a matter of time before God steps in and takes action. You may wonder why he hasn't already. 2 Peter 3:9 says, "Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." Unlike humans, God can read hearts. He knows our inclinations and deepest desires and he knows who is worthy of being saved. Psalms 37:9-11 says, ") For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." God has the power to undo any physical or mental anguish we might have experienced in life. He has the power to bring the dead back to life. He has the power to restore the earth back to the paradise-like conditions it was in before Adam and Eve sinned. And He will do all these things.

I'm ignoring your Atheism apologetics for the Atheist ruthless killers you listed, but I don't need to point out how murderous and uncivil Atheists are to make my point anyway.

Anyone can call themselves a Christian and anyone can call themselves an Atheist. A lot of people in this section have called themselves Atheist who don't actually deny the existence of God, and so by definition they are not actually an Atheist. They are actually pacifists who would rather not self identify as any particular religion, and since many people are claiming that Atheism is a lack of religion, these people are fooled into calling themselves Atheist on surveys when Agnostic might better describe them. I'm certain that if they had spent any time in here reading some of the hateful rants from Atheist zealots attacking Christianity they would not have self identified as Atheist.

In China, Atheism is the state approved religion, so one might expect it to be the largest religion in China. Not so. According to the surveys of Phil Zuckerman on Adherents.com in 1993 8% – 14% was atheist (from over 100 to 180 million) as of 2005. Just to compare, 15% of Israelis are atheist according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_atheism

Correlation is not cause, and this is made clear when comparing China with Israel who both have similar percentages of Atheist populous. Because there may be over-reporting in countries that promote Atheism and under-reporting in countries that promote God belief, it is likely that there are fewer Atheists in China than reported and more Atheist in Israel than the statistics report. However, the Atheists in China are the ones in power, and this has resulted in shocking immoral policies such as forced late term abortion, which would be considered murder in most countries.

The article you reference would like to suggest that Japan's low murder and teen pregnancy rate has to do with its percentage of Atheist population. However, this is based on a misunderstanding of a dubious claim. The claim is that "Over eighty percent accept evolution and fewer than ten percent are certain that God exists" means that Japan has the highest percentage of Atheist population. The following explains why this is a misunderstanding:

"East Asian cultures define religion differently from those in the West, making classification of certain adherents of Buddhism and Taoism particularly difficult, as belief in gods is generally absent in principle in these schools of thought except in syncretic outliers to the mainstreams of the belief system. Japan can be especially confusing, with most of the population incorporating practices from multiple religions into their lives (see Religion in Japan)."

It may be that more than ninety percent believe in gods and so they would not answer to a certainty that God (monotheism) exists. Belief in Evolution is a religion that is compatible with many other religions and so god belief is not excluded just because one believes in Evolution. One may believe that their god or gods caused Evolution to work and then stop before we could observe it.

Oh brother.

God clearly says in the Bible

Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

I don't think you can get any clearer than that.

Leviticus 19:18,34 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

John 5:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

I John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

By what standard then do you say murder is wrong without God.

. . . If I make my own laws, is it okay for me to hurt you, maybe hurting others makes me happy.
